2023 saw the return of two teams: the Texas Rangers after twelve years and the Arizona Diamondbacks after twenty-two years. The Rangers, who had home-field advantage for the opening two games, went on to defeat the Diamondbacks in five games to achieve their first World Series championship in franchise history. https://espritfc.com/ Corey Seager won the MVP Honor for the second time (his first was with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020), sharing with Reggie Jackson to win MVP Honors with two different teams.
Japanese professional players also have a difficult time coming to the North American leagues. They become free agents only after nine years playing service in the Nippon Professional Baseball (Japan’s premier baseball league), although their Japanese teams may at any time “post” them for bids from MLB teams, which commonly happens at the player’s request.
The 2024 World Series begins on Friday, Oct. 25, with Game 1 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. There will be off days for travel on Sunday, Oct. 27, and — if the series goes more than five games — on Thursday, Oct. 31. Below is the full schedule, complete with dates, locations and start times.
The World Baseball Classic is held in March and the Premier12 is held in November, allowing both events to feature top-level players from all nations. The predecessor to the WBSC as the sport’s international governing body, the International Baseball Federation, also sponsored a Baseball World Cup to crown a world champion. However, because the World Cup was held during the Northern Hemisphere summer, during the playing season of almost all top-level leagues, its teams did not feature the best talent from each nation.
Rain world game
Before creating Rain World, Joar Jakobsson was a graphic designer in Sweden who taught himself how to animate sprites. He had played few games and had little industry experience when development began in 2011. He began with a sketch of an unnamed elongated cat, which was dubbed “slugcat” by one of his YouTube viewers. Jakobsson had a previous interest in derelict environments, and what they reveal about the humans who previously occupied them. Partly inspired by his feelings of foreignness while living as an exchange student in Seoul, South Korea, a core idea in the game’s development was to recreate the life of “the rat in Manhattan”. This rat understands how to find food, hide, and live in the subway, but does not understand the subway’s structuring purpose or why it was built. Jakobsson and his development partner, James Therrien (also known as James Primate), hoped that players would similarly feel as if they were close to making sense of the game’s abstraction of an industrial environment without fully understanding. Jakobsson designed Rain World’s enemies to live their own lives, in which they hunt for food and struggle to survive, rather than serve as obstacles for the player. Enemies dynamically wander around without a set path, and in final playtests a week before release, the developers noted how some players became more or less interested in the game based on how lucky they were with enemy behavior. The developers expected players to learn to avoid combat and play the game primarily through stealth and flight.
If the player grabs hold of a Neuron Fly, Looks to the Moon panics and tries to get Slugcat to drop it. Should the player eat a Neuron Fly, Looks to the Moon cries out in distress and writhes in agony. However, from the Neuron Fly, the player gains the ability to passively glow. This helps the player get through certain areas of the game, but the guide takes the Slugcat’s betrayal very seriously, reacting angrily and leaving the Slugcat by themselves. Curious orange spirits are the player’s only guide upwards, towards a new unknown structure.
Hunter’s initial plunge into the Void Sea is much the same as with other Slugcats; they dive past the Void Worms, where they encounter a single Void Worm who pulls them further down into the darkness. They continue to swim for a while as they see visions of other Slugcats swimming around them towards a bright light. In the ending cutscene a dark substance can be seen escaping their body. They then curl up, seemingly in a peaceful sleep, and the silhouetted figure of a green Iterator appears to catch Hunter in their arms.

World series 1 game highlights
On Saturday, Fox announced that Game 1’s thrilling back-and-forth, extra-inning walk-off Dodgers victory drew 15.2 million viewers. That’s a truly massive number for a Game 1 in the modern media environment.
Moments after his error, Torres sparked the most interesting “defensive play” of the evening, when his long fly ball to left-center in the top of the ninth found the glove of a fan positioned at the wall in the pavilion seats. Because the fan had clearly reached over the wall to make the snag, it was ruled — and upheld on replay review — a ground-rule double rather than a go-ahead homer. In a gutsy move, the Dodgers intentionally walked Soto to face Aaron Judge with two aboard, and Blake Treinen came on to get Judge to harmlessly pop out to end the inning.
For a team built on its pitching, the Astros — mostly Kyle Tucker — have hit the Phillies with a haymaker. Houston is on the brink of a historic run: They can tie the 2019 Nationals, 2014 Royals, 2005 White Sox and 2004 Red Sox for the longest winning streak in a single postseason at eight.
World series game 3 time
11:07 p.m. — After replacing Holmes, Tommy Kahnle put together a solid inning for the Yankees. The Dodgers go down in order, and New York heads into the bottom of the eighth running out of chances to avoid going down 3-0 in the series.
8:24 p.m. HOME RUN — Freddie Freeman can’t be stopped right now. He lifts his third home run of the 2024 World Series into right field, giving the Dodgers an early 2-0 lead on the road. It’s also Freeman’s fifth straight World Series game with a homer.
Because the Dodgers had a better regular season record than the Yankees, Games 1, 2 and possibly 6 and 7 will be at Dodger Stadium, while Games 3 and 4 and a potential Game 5 will be at Yankee Stadium.
9:45 p.m. — Judge flied out to begin the bottom half of the fourth, dropping his World Series batting average to .091. The Yankees finally get their first hit of the game though, as Stanton doubles to left.
