Los Angeles took a 2-0 Series lead for the first time since 1988, when Kirk Gibson’s walk-off homer against Oakland’s Dennis Eckersley won the opener and Orel Hershiser followed with a three-hit shutout. https://businesstransitionsimplified.com/baltic-dry-index/ The Yankees are 0-2 for the first time since 2001, when they rebounded to win three straight at home and lost Games 6 and 7 at Arizona.

Next game of the world series
The Atlanta Braves (+750) and Philadelphia Phillies (10-1) round out the top four teams in the odds, with a trio of teams just behind them at 12-1 each — the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros and New York Mets.

Much of the pre-Series pressure is on New York. With their massive payroll – the second-largest in MLB in 2024, according to Spotrac – and global reach, Yankees fans expect the Bronx Bombers to win every game, let alone every Fall Classic. But New York hasn’t played for a ring since 2009 – an agonizingly long stretch of time for the team’s faithful.
• The Dodgers and Yankees had a World Series preview June 7-9 at Yankee Stadium, with Los Angeles winning two of the three games. Teoscar Hernández had a go-ahead, two-run double in the 11th inning of the first game, a 2-1 Dodgers win, then hit two homers in an 11-3 rout the next night. The Yanks salvaged the finale with a 6-4 win, powered by Trent Grisham’s three-run homer off Tyler Glasnow.
Yankees: The eighth-inning rally in Game 4 was significant because it saved Luke Weaver (21 pitches) from having to return to the mound for the ninth, keeping him available for Game 5. Other relievers to appear in Game 4 were Tim Hill (five pitches), Clay Holmes (13 pitches), Mark Leiter Jr. (18 pitches) and Tim Mayza (15 pitches).
Yankees: The Yankees had to backfill Game 2 after Carlos Rodón registered only 10 outs. Jake Cousins (21 pitches), Tim Hill (14 pitches), Clay Holmes (23 pitches), and Mark Leiter Jr. (9 pitches) were all used, but an off-day between games helps. Cousins and Holmes also pitched in Game 1.
Jamie dimon cryptocurrency
“I’ve always been deeply opposed to crypto, bitcoin, etc,” said Dimon in response to a question from Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren at a Senate hearing on Wednesday. “You pointed out the only true use case for it is criminals, drug traffickers, money launderers, tax avoidance . . . If I was the government, I’d close it down,” he added.
Now, as Treasury secretary Janet Yellen admits her fears over the future of the U.S. dollar, former U.S. president and 2024 Republican White House race nominee Donald Trump has revealed JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, an arch-bitcoin and crypto skeptic, has “all of a sudden changed his tune.”
Dimon’s latest comments arrived a day before the most important event in the Bitcoin blockchain: Bitcoin halving. This event occurs approximately every four years and cuts the rewards for Bitcoin miners by half. Currently, the cryptocurrency world is excited about the upcoming halving, especially with recent developments like the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs.
